Tires and rubber

The most effective and efficient way to recycle waste / Tires and rubber

According to general estimates, Russia’s annual average amount of waste tires is as much as 50 million units.  Burning of 1t of waste tires results in emission of about 270 kg of soot and 450 kg of toxic gases as well as a certain amount of benzopyrene, ash, dioxin, furan, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), arsenium, chromium, cadmium, etc.

Nowadays tire pyrolysis is the most cost-efficient and green method of recycling, as it not only solves the recycling problem, but also enables to obtain fuel from garbage.

Low-temperature pyrolysis enables to decompose tires into its components; each of them can be used for certain purposes. The European countries have been practicing recycling of tires by pyrolysis for a comparatively long time, because in addition to  a green  recycling, this type of processing enables to make a very good profit.

Products obtained during tire recycling:

• Carbon black, which is used as a filler during production of non-critical rubber, conveyor belts, technical plates, and much more. It also serves as a pigment for paint. Low-quality technical carbon is widely used in construction (paving slabs, concrete products and brick) .

• Synthesis gas, which is an analog of natural gas. This gas is clean enough, and can be freely used in mini-boilers to produce heat and power.

• Pressed metal cord used in the metallurgical industry. It can be sold as metal scrap or as binding wire (subject to additional firing)

• Synthetic oil, which is almost identical to natural by composition. It can replace many petroleum products after its purification.

All of these pyrolysis products are demanded in various industries, so recycling of tires is quite a lucrative business.

Recycling and subsequent processing of tires is made in several steps:

• Tires designed for recycling are sent to the raw material store.

• Tires are cut into the tire-tread part and sides with a special edge-cutting machine.

• A shredding machine enables to obtain raw materials of required fraction which are ready for recycling

• The finished raw material is sent to the pyrolysis reactor.

• Thermal decomposition of rubber gives products which later can be used to generate power.

Benefits from tire pyrolysis:

• The process of recycling is environmentally safe and toxic-free • Zero-waste production - all components are a marketable product

• The SDW processing method does not require power, it is self-sustainable;

Pyrolysis of tires is the only correct solution of rubber recycling problem for those who think about the future of their children and care for the environment. Pyrolysis is the most cost-efficient way to recycle old tires.
