The advantages of pyrolysis of used tires

disposal of worn tires  In general, the volume of used tires in Russia is estimated at about 50 million pieces per year. When a tonne of tires is burnt, about 270 kg of soot and 450 kg of toxic gases are released into the atmosphere. Benzopyrene, soot, dioxin, furan, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), arsenic, chromium, cadmium, etc. are emitted into the air.

Pyrolysis of tires today is the most economical and environmentally friendly method of their disposal, since it not only solves the issue of recycling, but also allows to get fuel literally from garbage.

Low-temperature pyrolysis enables to decompose the tires into their component parts, each of which can be used for certain purposes. Tire recycling by pyrolysis has long been used in European countries, because in addition to environmentally friendly disposal, this type of processing can bring a very good profit.

Products obtained from tire recycling:

  • Carbon black, which is used as a filler in the production of non-critical rubbers, conveyor belts, technical plates, and much more. It is also used as a pigment for the production of paints. Carbon black of lower quality is widely used in construction industry (paving slabs, concrete products and bricks are made from it).
  • Synth gas, which is an analogue of natural gas. This gas is quite clean, and can be freely used in mini-boilers to generate heat and electricity.
  • Pressed metal cord is used for the needs of the metallurgical industry. It can be sold as scrap metal or as tie wire (subject to additional firing)
  • Synthetic oil, which in its composition is almost identical to natural oil. If cleaned, it can substitute many petroleum products.

All these products obtained from tire pyrolysis are in demand in a wide variety of industries, making tire recycling a fairly profitable business.

Processing and subsequent recycling of tires is carried out in several stages:

  • Car tires collected for recycling are sent to the raw materials storehouse.
  • Using a bead-cutting machine, tires are cut into the tread part and sides.
  • With the help of a shredding machine, we get feedstock of the required fraction ready for recycling.
  • The pre-treated feedstock is forwarded to the pyrolysis reactor.
  • During the thermal decomposition of rubber, products that can later be used to generate electricity, are formed.

The advantages of pyrolysis of worn tyres:

  • This recycling process is environmentally friendly and there are no highly toxic substances in the products.
  • There is no waste during production, in other words, absolutely everything that comes out of the tyre recycling process is a commercial product.
  • The recycling does not require energy consumption at all, it is completely autonomous.

Tire pyrolysis is the only true solution to rubber disposal for all those who think about the future of their children and care about the environment. Pyrolysis is the most profitable way to recycle used car tires.
